Intro to Good Choices

Teaching Children How to Make Their Own Good Choices

Children begin forming social habits early. This begins with the choices they make every day. The Good Choices initiative helps them learn to respect themselves, their friends, teachers and parents—so they can get along better with others and get a head start in life.

Learning Core Values

Building Strong Foundations for a Bright Future

Grade school children (ages 7–13) benefit greatly from the 21 precepts of the Good Choices initiative. These focus on personal responsibility, treating others with respect and keeping one’s word.

For example:

  • Taking care of themselves teaches self-respect and the value of health
  • Setting a good example shows how their actions can inspire others
  • Helping younger kids builds compassion and responsibility

They also learn to:

  • Respect others’ beliefs
  • Keep their promises
  • Do their best in everything they try

These lessons help guide children to grow into strong, positive individuals who make thoughtful choices and help make the world a better place.

From Learning to Living

Transforming Knowledge into Action

The program shows kids how to live these values daily. As they practice honesty, responsibility and respect, they begin to see how their choices affect others too.

They learn to think before they act, meet challenges with confidence and build lasting relationships—a strong foundation for a successful future.

The Good Choices initiative is based on The Way to Happiness, a non-religious moral code by L. Ron Hubbard. It was adapted into the Good Choices program specifically for children 7–13, with great success.
