Good Choices
This Book Will Help You Make Good Choices
Happy House’s activities since its inception and the Happy House Good Choices® program are based on the booklet The Way to Happiness®. This booklet contains a non-religious guide to happy living and was written by L. Ron Hubbard in 1981 in response to the 1980 Supreme Court decision to remove all references to the 10 Commandments from schools. Mr. Hubbard predicted a rise in crime and violence as a result of that decision and wrote The Way to Happiness to help fill the void. It may be the only non-religious moral code based wholly on common sense.
How to Make Good Choices
Based on The Way to Happiness
Helping children make good choices is one of the most important skills they can develop early in life! The Good Choices initiative provides a practical framework for grade school kids to learn essential values like respect, responsibility, and honesty.
This initiative encourages children to understand how their daily choices shape their relationships with others and the world around them. By teaching kids how to respect themselves, their peers, teachers, and parents, the Good Choices program sets them on the path to making positive decisions that will help them thrive in life.

Our Goal Is a Healthy World Where People Can Trust One Another
Mission
Our mission is to help bring about a safer community by “Building Better Families.” A “family” in this case can be small or large; it can be a school, church, business, neighborhood or even a country.
We are here to help, not to tell people what is right or wrong or to set down any rules. We use the 21 common sense values found in The Way to Happiness as a base. People from all walks of life, regardless of their race, religion or ethnic background, have used these tips to help themselves and others live happier, calmer and more productive lives.
Our goal is a healthy world where people can trust one another and not live in fear, where there is mutual respect and a true sense of community. This “healthy world” already exists in many families and neighborhoods, in many congregations and businesses but, sadly, is very difficult to maintain in this modern world.
We are here to support the efforts of those who are doing good deeds. We want to make it easier for everyone to live a life that creates happiness for all.
